The 1980s: Only $1 a Yard!

The other day our local library was cleaning house and was offering old books and videos for '$1 a Yard'. Wow, thought my husband. For only one dollar, I can bring back three whole feet of 80s awesomeness. And he did. He brought me old kids' books, and silly books on tape. He brought me old VHS tapes of "Dirty Dancing" and "The Elephant Man" and "St. Elmo's Fire."

It was kind of sad to see all of this go for a dollar. I mean seriously, divided among all the items, the cost was probably no more than a nickle apiece. I would have thought SOMEONE would be willing to pay more than a nickle to have the pleasure of hearing Patrick Swayze say "Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner." But I guess I am clueless, taken to overestimating the value of things nostalgic.

Great score! They could have asked for $1 per item... guess they needed it cleared out in a hurry.

Bet they would have sold for a lot more on eBay too.

What a great deal! Wish I was there; I'd have bought quite a few yards, I'll bet!

Fun idea! Sure beats what I charge for VHSes at yard sales - 50 cents each or 3/$1!! ;D
