Hey, I just noticed something.
There is 'Menudo', the boy band that at one time included Ricky Martin. There is also 'menudo', which is a Mexican soup that is made out of cow intestines.
Assuming that menudo soup was around many years before Ricky Martin was even a glimmer in his parents eye, we have to ask ourselves: who thought it was a great idea to name a boyband after tripe soup? And even if it wasn't named in honor of soup, did they not think that people in some parts of the world would make this connection?
Although, I did Wiki 'menudo soup' and found this interesting tidbit:
Menudo (from Latin minūtus) can mean "small, thin, worthless, vulgar, (money) change, tripe, and tithe from small orchards."
Hmmm, sounds like ... Menudo!

I actually had that same question a few years back when my friend was determined to try that particular soup at a local mexican restaurant.
He did not appreciate the thought provoking topic since he was busy puking up that nasty soup at the time.
Yeah, old school. Seriously, Menudo needed to hire a marketing team to work on that a little. Even naming them 'Liver Boys' or something would have been better.
